About the Role

Genus Infrastructure is proud to Support local infrastructure projects and interstate projects in New South Wales. We are seeking highly motivated individuals to join our 2026 apprentice intake as Distribution Linespersons.

This is a 48-month apprenticeship leading to a Certificate III in ESI - Distribution Overhead (UET30621). Successful candidates will receive structured on-the-job training, technical education through an RTO, and the chance to contribute towards both local and surrounding area’s infrastructure projects.

What You'll Be Doing
  • Work alongside qualified tradespeople to install, maintain, and repair Distribution overhead powerlines.
  • Learn safe work practices in live and non-live environments.
  • Travel to project sites across regional NSW.
  • Complete structured training and submit logbook evidence.
  • Develop skills in using tools, climbing poles, reading plans, and applying electrical safety standards.
What We're Looking For

We want driven, hands-on individuals who are committed to building a career in the power industry. You must be:
  • At least 18 years old
  • Physically fit with good hand-eye coordination and a head for heights
  • In possession of or able to obtain:
  1. C-Class Manual Driver's Licence
  1. Construction White Card
  1. National Police Clearance
  • Genuinely interested in electrical networks and large-scale infrastructure
  • Able to work in regional areas and Sydney as required
  • A team player with a strong safety mindset and willingness to learn
  
Desirable Qualities
  • Positive attitude and strong work ethic
  • Strong communication and problem-solving skills
  • Commitment to completing all training requirements
  • Previous exposure to construction, agriculture, or mechanical environments (advantageous but not essential)
