Are you an experienced mechanical leader looking for your next challenge? We are seeking a Workshop and Field Service Manager to join our Hire Fleet division and lead a high-performing team responsible for maintaining and supporting mining equipment across workshop and field operations.


About the Role

The Workshop and Field Service manager is responsible for overseeing workshop and field service operations to ensure assets, maintenance activities and customer support activities are delivered safely, efficiently and profitably.

You will lead workshop personnel and field service technicians, coordinate maintenance and repair activities, support customers across multiple mine sites, and driver operational excellence through effective planning, resource management, and continuous improvement initiatives. This role offers a unique combination of hands-on technical leadership, team development, customer relationship management, and commercial responsibility.


Key Responsibilities

  • Manage day-to-day workshop operations including repairs, rebuilds, diagnostics, and fault finding

  • Lead and coordinate workshop and field service teams to deliver high-quality maintenance and support services

  • Schedule and prioritise servicing, breakdown repairs, planned maintenance and hire fleet activities

  • Coordinate field service technicians across multiple mine sites

  • Act as the primary point of contact for technical support, breakdown response, and customer enquiries

  • Prepare mechanical quotations, job plans, and organise parts and components for site-based work

  • Monitor work-in-progress, scheduling, invoicing and labour quotations

  • Conduct quality control inspections and ensure compliance with safety standards and procedures

  • Monitor operational KPIs and implement continuous improvement strategies to enhance service delivery and customer satisfaction


What We're Looking For

  • Trade-qualified Mechanical Fitter or equivalent mechanical trade qualification

  • Minimum 5 years' experience in mining equipment maintenance

  • Previous experience leading workshop, maintenance, or field service teams

  • Strong technical knowledge of mining equipment, maintenance systems, and diagnostic tools

  • Experience with mine site safety systems and compliance requirements will be highly regarded
