Product Support Specialist Mining

Your New Opportunity:

Due to growth, an exciting opportunity has become available for a Product Support Specialist - Mining to join Penske Australia based in the Hunter Valley.

Reporting to the General Manager - Mining, this role combines technical expertise, customer engagement and aftermarket business development to support key mining customers throughout the Hunter Valley and Gunnedah regions.

As the face of Penske within your territory, you'll work closely with customers, site personnel and internal teams to maximise equipment performance, drive aftermarket sales growth and deliver exceptional customer support. You'll become a trusted advisor, helping customers optimise the performance and reliability of their critical mining assets.

In this role you will:

• Build and maintain strong relationships with mining customers, OEM partners and site personnel.
• Regularly visit customer sites to provide technical guidance and product support.
• Drive aftermarket sales growth by identifying opportunities for parts, service and support solutions.
• Provide technical support and troubleshooting assistance across Penske's mining product portfolio.
• Coordinate responses to product support using branch and national support resources.
• Assist with diagnostics, root cause analysis and technical reporting.
• Support equipment introductions, repower projects and engineering initiatives.
• Maintain and manage equipment performance data, service history and maintenance records.
• Monitor field performance and provide recommendations to improve reliability and operational outcomes.
• Deliver product and maintenance guidance to customers and internal teams.
• Provide regular reporting on customer activity, risks, opportunities and market trends.

About you:

• Trade qualification in Diesel, Heavy Vehicle, Mechanical or related discipline, or an Engineering Degree.
• Minimum 5 years' experience within mining, heavy industry, power generation or related sectors.
• Strong technical knowledge of heavy diesel engines and associated systems.
• Experience providing technical support, field service, product support or reliability engineering services.
• Strong understanding of the Australian mining industry and customer operating environments.
• Previous experience in customer-facing, sales, account management or technical advisory roles is highly regarded.
• Excellent communication and relationship-building skills.
• Strong problem-solving, diagnostic and analytical capabilities.
• Ability to work independently while collaborating effectively across multiple teams.
• High level of organisation and ability to manage competing priorities.
• Willingness to travel throughout the Hunter Valley and surrounding mining regions.
