Fabrication Supervisor

Lead the workshop. Control the process. Deliver major projects.

CIA Precast & Steel, part of the ATB Morton Group of Companies, is seeking an experienced Fabrication Supervisor to lead and manage our steel fabrication operations at our Tomago facility.

This is a operational role responsible for the full coordination of structural steel fabrication, integrating engineering and drafting services, procurement, all commercial aspects, production planning, quality systems and workshop safety to deliver projects for major infrastructure and Tier 1 clients.

About the Role

Reporting to the Group Manufacturing Manager, the Fabrication Supervisor will oversee day-to-day steel manufacturing operations, ensuring safe, efficient and cost-effective production.

This role is critical to maintaining operational discipline, workforce productivity and production reporting standards required for major infrastructure and Tier 1 projects.

You will lead the workshop team, drive continuous improvement, and ensure production outputs meet quality, safety and delivery expectations.

About You

To succeed in this role, you will bring:

  • Experience in structural steel fabrication or heavy manufacturing

  • Proven leadership managing fabrication workshops and trade teams

  • Strong understanding of structural steel drawings and fabrication processes

  • Experience coordinating between engineering, drafting, procurement and production teams

  • Demonstrated capability in material take-offs and fabrication scope verification

  • Knowledge of nesting software or CNC and plate line processing workflows

  • Experience managing fabrication quality systems and documentation

  • Strong understanding of workshop WHS management

  • Excellent organisational and problem-solving skills

Desirable

  • Trade qualification in Fabrication or Boiler making

  • Welding Supervisor Certification

  • Experience delivering steel packages for major infrastructure or Tier 1 projects

  • Exposure to ERP or production management systems

Additional Requirements

  • Current unrestricted Class C Driver Licence

  • Forklift licence

  • Ability to pass pre-employment medical, including drug and alcohol testing

  • Full working rights in Australia
