The Opportunity 

Universal Store is seeking a passionate, creative, and driven retail leader to step into the Store Manager role. This opportunity suits someone who thrives on leading from the front, building strong store culture, and creating standout customer experiences. If you’re passionate about youth fashion, developing high‑performing teams, and delivering excellence in a fast‑paced retail environment, we’d love to hear from you. 

The successful candidate will work a Tuesday–Saturday roster, including late‑night trade and weekends. 

Responsibilities 

  • Lead day‑to‑day store operations with a strong and visible floor presence 
  • Inspire, coach, and develop a large, diverse team to build future leaders 
  • Deliver outstanding customer experiences in line with Universal Store service standards 
  • Drive sales performance and store profitability through strong cost and productivity management 
  • Manage rostering, budgets, and scheduling to achieve business and payroll targets 
  • Maintain visual merchandising, presentation standards, and overall store efficiency 
  • Recruit, train, and support team members through clear, honest, and constructive feedback 
  • Uphold and role‑model Universal Store’s values, culture, and brand expectations 

Skills and Experience 

  • Strong retail background with hands‑on experience across both shop floor and stockroom 
  • Proven experience as a Store Manager, leading medium to large teams 
  • A warm, energetic communicator who leads with positivity and purpose 
  • Ability to adapt and thrive in a fast‑paced, ever‑changing environment 
  • High attention to detail with a strong understanding of retail profitability 
  • Proven success in achieving and exceeding sales targets 
  • Confident in delivering feedback and communicating effectively at all levels
