Underground Fitters – Flexibility That Works For You

Mader Group is hiring experienced Underground Fitters with Hard Rock experience, offering greater flexibility and lifestyle control across our Central Western NSW operations.

If you’ve got solid underground time and are confident on drill and development gear — this is your chance to lock in great pay without sacrificing your lifestyle.

What’s on offer:

  • $80 to $85 (depending on experience)

  • 7/7 roster or build your own roster – work when it suits you

  • Company vehicle + fuel provided

  • Accommodation & meals covered

  • Ongoing, consistent work across established underground sites

  • Join a team that understands UG life – no unrealistic expectations

The role:

You’ll be working hands-on underground completing:

  • Maintenance, breakdowns, and diagnostics

  • Repairs on hard rock equipment

  • A strong focus on development and production drill gear

This is a role for fitters who can work independently underground and take pride in getting the job done right.

What we’re looking for:

  • 3+ years underground hard rock experience as a Diesel Fitter

  • Experience on OEM UG equipment highly regarded (Sandvik, Epiroc, Normet, CAT, Komatsu, Elphinstone)

  • Cert III in Mobile Plant / Heavy Diesel (or equivalent)

  • Solid diagnostics & fault-finding skills

  • Ability to work autonomously underground

  • Strong understanding of UG safety requirements

  • Current driver’s license

Why Mader?

We specialize in mobile plant maintenance, and we back our underground crews with:

  • Flexible rosters that suit real life

  • Consistent work without the burnout

  • Experienced UG teams — not surface setups in disguise
