About the role
Newcastle Access is seeking a dedicated and professional HR Tilt Tray Driver to join our growing team on a full-time basis. This position is based in Heatherbrae, NSW 2324 and is integral to our operations in the access equipment hire industry. As an HR Tilt Tray Driver, you will be responsible for operating our tilt tray vehicle whilst ensuring safe and efficient transportation of machinery. This role requires a proactive individual who can work independently, maintain vehicle safety standards, and provide excellent customer service whilst delivering machinery across varied routes.
What you'll be doing
Operate tilt tray vehicles safely and efficiently to transporting machinery to designated locations
Conduct pre-trip and post-trip vehicle inspections to ensure mechanical soundness and compliance with safety regulations
Maintain accurate logbooks and delivery documentation, recording times, distances and any incidents
Load and unload machines using the tilt tray mechanism, ensuring goods are secured appropriately
Communicate professionally with customers and dispatch regarding delivery schedules and any issues encountered
Comply with all relevant road transport legislation, including weight limits and driving hour restrictions
Perform routine vehicle maintenance and report any mechanical faults or defects promptly
Adhere to Newcastle Access health and safety policies and procedures at all times
What we're looking for
Current Heavy Rigid (HR) driver's licence with a clean driving record
Proven experience operating tilt tray vehicles in a commercial road transport environment
Strong understanding of vehicle safety standards and road transport regulations
Excellent time management and organisational skills with the ability to meet delivery deadlines
Professional communication skills and a customer-focused approach
Physical fitness to perform manual handling tasks associated with loading and unloading
Ability to work independently and as part of a team
Current medical fitness certification (if required by legislation)
A positive attitude towards safety and compliance with company policies
Experience with digital logbooks and GPS tracking systems is advantageous
