Experienced Workshop Trades Assistant

Permanent Position | 6:00am – 2:30pm (38 Hr Week)

Prolec Australia is a locally owned manufacturing business specialising in sheet metal fabrication, electrical enclosures and custom-built products. Due to continued growth, we are seeking an experienced and reliable Workshop Trades Assistant to join our team.

This role would suit someone who enjoys hands-on work, values being part of a small team, and is looking for a stable long-term position. Whether you're coming from a trade background, manufacturing environment, or product assembly role, we value reliability, practical skills and a strong work ethic.

About the Role

Your duties will include:

• Product assembly using hand and power tools

• Measuring, cutting and preparing materials

• Loading and unloading freight

• Picking and packing orders

• Deliveries and collection of parts

• General workshop maintenance and housekeeping

• Assisting tradespeople and workshop staff as required

• Forklift operation (if licensed)

What We're Looking For

We are looking for someone who:

• Has previous experience in a workshop, manufacturing, assembly or trade environment

• Is confident using hand and power tools

• Takes pride in producing quality work

• Is reliable, punctual and safety-focused

• Can work independently and show initiative

• Is looking for stable, long-term employment with consistent hours

  Highly Regarded

  • Sheet metal, fabrication, mechanical assembly or manufacturing experience

  • Forklift licence

  • Experience reading drawings or assembling products from plans
