For more than 150 years, Baker Love Lawyers has been part of Newcastle’s story — standing beside local families, businesses and property owners through decisions that shape their futures.
As Newcastle’s oldest law firm, we are proud of the trust we have earned over generations. That trust has been built through careful advice, genuine relationships, strong ethics and a deep commitment to helping clients move forward with confidence.
Because our commercial and property practice continues to grow, we are now looking for a Commercial and Property Lawyer to join our team at Baker Love Lawyers.
This role would suit someone who:
Is admitted to practice in NSW and holds a current practising certificate
Has at least 2 years’ post-admission experience in commercial law
Enjoys advising clients on commercial transactions, contracts, business structures and practical legal solutions
Has experience, or a strong interest, in property law, leasing, conveyancing or development-related matters
Takes pride in clear drafting, careful attention to detail and commercially sensible advice
Values long-term client relationships and wants to be part of a firm with a proud local legacy
You will work alongside experienced practitioners on a broad range of commercial and property matters, including business transactions, contractual arrangements, leasing, conveyancing, development-related property matters, business succession and trust structures.
More importantly, you will be helping clients through moments that matter — buying and selling businesses, protecting their interests, navigating property decisions and planning for what comes next.
At Baker Love Lawyers, we believe good legal advice is about more than technical skill. It is about listening properly, explaining clearly, reducing stress for clients and delivering advice that is practical, thoughtful and grounded in integrity.
If you are looking to build your legal career in a firm where history, relationships and professional standards truly matter, we would love to hear from you.
If this sounds like you — or someone you know — please get in touch or share this opportunity with a lawyer who is ready to do meaningful work with a respected Newcastle firm.
