About the opportunity

We are looking for an experienced, organised and solutions-focused ICT Senior Technician to own delivery of their initiatives across the ICT operations, systems development and technology implementation in line with Community Resources’ ICT operating plan.

Reporting to the ICT Manager within the Enterprise Services Team, this role plays a senior hands-on part in the strategy, design, project management, testing and implementation of ICT solutions that meet the short and long-term needs of the organisation. While level 1 helpdesk services are outsourced, you will provide responsive technical support, guidance and coordination across Community Resources’ systems and services.

Preferably we are looking from someone based in the Midcoast of NSW, who can work from our Tuncurry office on sets days. An alternate location could be Darlinghurst, Sydney. This role offers flexibility to work between the office and home. Occasional travel, including interstate travel, is required in this role.

What You’ll Do:

  • Lead ICT projects end-to-end: Support and lead system development and implementation projects from initiation through to completion, ensuring practical delivery and strong stakeholder outcomes.

  • Translate business needs into secure, integrated solutions: Analyse existing systems and processes, identify gaps and inefficiencies, and define requirements that meet functional, interoperability, policy and security needs.

  • Collaborate across the organisation: Work closely with managers, users, external partners to ensure technology solutions are well integrated with existing systems and processes.

  • Provide senior technical expertise: Install, test, deploy, monitor, maintain, troubleshoot and upgrade ICT services and infrastructure, and provide guidance to internal stakeholders and external partners.

  • Support secure and compliant ICT practices: Conduct ICT security activities in line with the Cyber Security plan, support system access audits and permission reviews, and contribute to information security awareness.

  • Improve systems and documentation: Maintain accurate technical documentation, uphold development and operational standards, and troubleshoot technical issues related to systems and applications.

  • Support software selection and ICT lifecycle management: Contribute to the selection, testing and evaluation of software solutions, including value-for-money considerations, and support procurement, setup and lifecycle management of ICT hardware, software and services across work locations.

  • Build capability: Provide training and support to end users and stay current with emerging technologies that may benefit the organisation.

About you

You are a capable and collaborative ICT professional with the confidence to operate at a senior technical level. You bring strong judgement, practical project delivery experience and the ability to balance hands-on technical support with systems analysis, vendor engagement and stakeholder guidance.

You are:

  • An experienced project contributor and leader: Able to manage multiple projects and priorities in a fast-paced environment and support implementation through to completion.

  • A strong systems thinker: Skilled at understanding business requirements, analysing current processes and recommending technical solutions that meet organisational needs.

  • A trusted technical partner: Confident working with managers, users, vendors, developers, and suppliers to deliver excellent organisational outcomes.

  • Security and compliance aware: Comfortable contributing to cyber security activities, system access reviews, audits and information security practices.

  • A clear communicator and coach: Able to explain technical concepts to non-technical audiences, provide guidance, and support end users to adopt technology effectively.

  • Detail focused and adaptable: Accurate, organised and responsive to changing business needs and priorities.
