City of Newcastle (CN) is seeking three experienced specialists with strong skills in creating and editing web content to support well-structured, user-centred journeys.  These   detail-oriented Web Content Editors will play a key role in delivering a major uplift and migration of content across our web ecosystem with a major focus on the corporate website.

Fixed-term are available through to June 2027, offering the chance to contribute to a high-impact digital transformation program that will improve how we connect with our community.

Working closely with stakeholders across CN, you will be responsible for transforming and enhancing web content to ensure it meets the evolving needs of our users. This includes auditing and archiving existing content, identifying opportunities to streamline and modernise information, and rewriting key pages to ensure they are clear, engaging and aligned with City of Newcastle’s brand voice and digital experience standards.

You will provide guidance and support to internal content contributors, building capability and consistency across teams while fostering a user-centred approach to content creation. As part of the migration process, you will publish content across both current and new content management systems, ensuring a smooth and efficient transition.

A strong focus of this role is delivering high-quality digital content that is accessible, fit for purpose and easy to navigate. You will apply best practice in user experience and search engine optimisation, while ensuring all content meets WCAG 2.2 AA accessibility standards.

Your strong understanding of digital content best practice, along with the ability to balance strategic thinking and hands-on delivery will set you up well for success in this position. You will thrive in a collaborative environment, demonstrate excellent attention to detail, and be passionate about creating content that delivers real value to the community.

Remuneration: $107,672.94 + 17.5% annual leave loading yearly payment + 12% Superannuation per annum for a 35-hour week
