About the role

Home Inn Australia is seeking a Hotel Receptionist to join our team in Singleton, NSW on a casual basis. As a Hotel Receptionist, you will be the first point of contact for our guests, delivering exceptional customer service and ensuring a warm welcome to all visitors. This role is essential to creating a positive first impression and maintaining the high standards of hospitality that Home Inn Australia is known for. You will work flexibly on a casual basis, providing support during peak periods and special events as required.

What you'll be doing

• Welcoming guests upon arrival and providing them with information about hotel facilities, local attractions and services

• Processing guest check-ins and check-outs efficiently and accurately using the hotel management system

• Handling telephone enquiries, reservations and general requests in a professional and courteous manner

• Managing the front desk, including monitoring key cards, mail and messages for guests

• Processing payments securely and reconciling cash and card transactions at the end of shifts

• Responding to guest complaints or concerns promptly and resolving issues to ensure guest satisfaction

• Providing information about hotel amenities, local dining options and tourist attractions

• Maintaining a clean, organised and welcoming front desk area

• Assisting with administrative tasks such as data entry and record keeping

• Collaborating with housekeeping, maintenance and management teams to ensure seamless hotel operations

What we're looking for

• Excellent interpersonal and communication skills with a genuine passion for delivering outstanding customer service

• Proficiency in using hotel management software and computer systems, with strong typing and data entry skills

• Ability to remain calm, professional and solution-focused when managing multiple tasks or handling difficult situations

• Strong organisational and time management skills with attention to detail

• A flexible and adaptable approach to work, with the ability to work effectively in a casual capacity

• Cash handling experience and familiarity with payment processing systems

• Previous hospitality, front desk or customer service experience is highly desirable

• Professionalism, reliability and a friendly demeanour

• Availability to work shifts including evenings, weekends and public holidays as required
