Speech Pathologist | Help build our new integrated therapy speech service

Healthcare & Medical / Speech Therapy

Posted 11/06/2026
Closes 25/06/2026

Aberglasslyn, 2320, Maitland, New South Wales

Part time

Not specified

You did not get into speech pathology to hit session quotas.

You got into it for the moment something clicks. A child finding a word. A resident in aged care being understood again for the first time in months. That is still the part you love, even on the long days. You are experienced now. You can carry your own caseload, you trust your clinical judgement, and lately you have started to wonder what you could do with a bit more room to move. You would rather help shape a service than slot into someone else's. You want colleagues who actually share clients and ideas with you, not just share a kitchen. And you want to be somewhere that measures you on whether the patient got better, not on a number in a spreadsheet. If that sounds like you, keep reading. This one might be what you have been waiting for.

Here is what we are offering you

A place in a team that is building something on purpose. Watagan Health Hub is growing into a fully integrated therapy service, and speech pathology is the next step. Right now we have music therapy, with two music therapists, Ashleigh and Tayla, already part of the team, and later this year we will be adding occupational therapy. You would be the person who leads our development in speech pathology, not off on your own, but as part of a team building this together. We already have a wait list, and other providers are wanting to send clients our way. The pieces are in place. What we need now is the right person to step into the team and help make this something genuinely special.

What your week could look like

- A mixed caseload across our Cooranbong clinic and out in the community, including aged care facilities we already visit.

- Genuine integration, not parallel play. You work closely with our music therapists and our dental team, especially on myofunctional and early intervention cases where the mouth, airway, and speech all connect, with occupational therapy joining later this year.

- A real hand in shaping how speech pathology fits within our team, from clinical approach to how we connect care across disciplines.

- A patient mix that can flex to your strengths, whether that is paediatrics, adults, or aged care.

What we will be straight with you about

- You would not be doing this alone, and you would not be off in a silo either. You have an established practice, admin and reception support, and a therapy team building alongside you.

- We keep the focus on good care rather than billing targets, and we will be honest about caseload as it builds rather than dropping you in at full tilt.

- A role that grows with us. You would start part-time and build into a 4 to 5 day week as our new building comes online. It is being renovated now and will be finished in the next three to six months, and the role expands as the space opens. If you would rather go full-time from the start, we are open to that for the right person. Either way, we keep set practice hours you can build your life around, and NDIS, privately funded, and aged care work all sit within what we do.

- Pay is set to your experience, within the range listed with this ad. As the role starts part-time, it begins pro-rata and grows with your hours. Tell us in your application where you would place yourself in that range.

The practical bits

Ideally you have around five or more years experience behind you. What this looks like practically is enough experience to work confidently on your own, with the drive and energy to help build something new. Certified Practicing membership with Speech Pathology Australia (or eligibility) and the usual checks for community and aged care work are needed, or close enough that we can sort them together.
