About the role
Maitland Central Podiatry is seeking a skilled and compassionate Podiatrist to join our team in East Maitland, NSW. This is a part-time position that offers flexibility whilst allowing you to make a meaningful impact on patients' foot health and overall wellbeing. As a Podiatrist, you will be at the forefront of delivering high-quality podiatric care, utilising your expertise to diagnose, treat and prevent foot and lower limb conditions. This role is integral to our clinic's mission of providing exceptional patient care and maintaining our reputation as a trusted healthcare provider in the community.
Key responsibilities
Conducting comprehensive foot and lower limb assessments and examinations using appropriate diagnostic techniques
Developing and implementing individualised treatment plans tailored to each patient's specific needs and conditions
Performing a range of podiatric treatments including nail care, Diabetic Assessments, skin lesion management, orthotic prescription and fitting, and biomechanical interventions
Providing preventative care advice and patient education on foot health, footwear selection and self-care strategies
Maintaining accurate and detailed patient records in accordance with professional and legal standards
Collaborating with other healthcare professionals to ensure coordinated and holistic patient care
Contributing to a positive and professional clinic environment that prioritises patient safety and satisfaction
Staying current with developments in podiatric practice and participating in continuing professional development activities
What we're looking for
Current registration with the Podiatry Board of Australia (or eligible to register)
Bachelor's degree in Podiatry or equivalent recognised qualification
Demonstrated experience in general podiatric practice, ideally in a clinic-based setting
Strong clinical knowledge of foot and lower limb pathology and evidence-based treatment approaches
Excellent communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to build rapport with diverse patient populations
Professional approach to patient confidentiality and adherence to ethical standards
Ability to work effectively as part of a multidisciplinary healthcare team
Organisational skills and attention to detail in clinical documentation and record-keeping
Current First Aid certification (desirable)
Experience with electronic health records systems (desirable)
