Senior Project Engineer – Newcastle, NSW

The Opportunity

An established civil contractor is seeking a Senior Project Engineer to join the team on a major BESS and Substation Upgrade Project based in Newcastle.

This role offers the opportunity to work across a diverse scope of works including civil, FRP, and utilities, delivering critical energy infrastructure within a complex brownfield environment.

We are ideally seeking an experienced Senior Project Engineer, however strong Project Engineers looking to take the next step in their career will also be considered.

Key Responsibilities

• Manage project delivery in accordance with programme, budget and quality requirements

• Coordinate subcontractors, suppliers and site teams

• Oversee planning, procurement and project reporting

• Ensure compliance with safety, environmental and quality standards

• Monitor project costs, variations and forecasting

• Liaise with clients, consultants and key stakeholders

• Support and mentor junior engineering staff where required

About You

• Degree qualified in Civil Engineering or a related discipline

• Previous experience delivering civil infrastructure projects

• Experience managing multiple work fronts and subcontractors

• Strong understanding of project controls, programming and cost management

• Excellent communication and stakeholder management skills

• Experience within utilities, energy, substation or renewable projects is advantageous
