Williams Planning and Property (WPP Pty Ltd) is seeking a talented Town Planner / Senior Planner to join our Newcastle Based consultancy.
About Us
WPP ( wppgroup.com.au ) provides town planning and property advisory services to a range of private and public sector clients. The majority of our projects and client base are situated in the Hunter and Central Coast Regions of NSW, however we are regularly involved in projects across metropolitan and regional NSW.
Our client base is diverse and includes small scale developers, larger residential, commercial and industrial builders, registered clubs, retirement living providers, social and affordable housing providers, quarry operators, local government and State government agencies. The diversity of our client base ensures the projects are varied in complexity.
We regularly form part of multidisciplinary consulting teams to advise over the life cycle of a project or development from inception and due diligence, through application preparation and the formal assessment phase. Our projects include State Significant Development, Regional Development, Designated Development, Planning Proposals, Part 5 Assessments and local development applications.

The Position
The position provides an opportunity for a suitably qualified candidate to gain a broad range of experience in a team environment. Tasks would include:
Preparation of due diligence and approvals pathway advice;
Preparation of Statement of Environmental Effects, Environmental Impact Statements, Planning Proposals and Reviews of Environmental Factors;
Reviewing plans and technical reports prepared in support of applications and proposals;
Liaising with Council’s, State Government Agencies and other statutory authorities;
Working collaboratively with other technical consultants to ensure applications are prepared in a timely manner.
The Candidate
We are open to receiving applications from candidates with varying levels of experience. At a minimum, the successful candidate will have completed a tertiary degree or have suitable post graduate qualifications in town planning, urban and regional planning or environmental science.
The successful candidate will have strong written skills coupled with a sound knowledge of the NSW Planning System. The ability to work collaboratively with clients and government stakeholders will be beneficial.
