THE OPPORTUNITY

Omnia Wheel is an award-winning manufacturing business based in Beresfield, NSW. We are the only omni-directional wheel manufacturer in Australia and a world leader in our field.

We are growing both locally and internationally, exporting to more than 50 countries. As we continue to expand our range of innovative products, we are seeking a talented Industrial Designer to join our team.

This is an exciting opportunity to help shape the next generation of products that utilise omni-directional wheel technology, from consumer products and industrial equipment to robotics and material-handling solutions.

WHO YOU ARE

  • Creative, curious, and passionate about product design

  • Able to translate ideas into practical, manufacturable products

  • Comfortable working independently and as part of a multidisciplinary team

  • Strong communicator with excellent presentation skills

  • Detail-oriented with a focus on user experience, aesthetics, and functionality

  • Excited by innovation and bringing new products to market

YOUR EXPERIENCE

You would ideally have experience in a number of the following areas:

  • Industrial design and product development

  • Concept generation, ideation, and visualisation

  • Sketching, rendering, and design communication

  • 3D CAD modelling and product design

  • User-centred design and design thinking methodologies

  • Design for manufacture and assembly

  • Materials selection and manufacturing processes

  • Prototype development and product testing

  • Working collaboratively with engineering and manufacturing teams

Experience with SolidWorks, Fusion 360, Rhino, KeyShot, Adobe Creative Suite, or similar design software would be advantageous.

WHAT YOU'LL DO

This role will contribute to the design and development of innovative products and systems incorporating omni-directional wheel technology.

Responsibilities include:

  • Generating and developing new product concepts

  • Creating sketches, renders, prototypes, and presentation materials

  • Collaborating with engineering teams to transform concepts into manufacturable products

  • Designing products for industrial, commercial, robotics, and consumer applications

  • Conducting research into market trends, user needs, and emerging technologies

  • Supporting product development from concept through to production

  • Contributing to branding, product aesthetics, and user experience

  • Producing and maintaining design documentation and specifications
