An established contractor delivering large-scale construction projects across Canberra is seeking an experienced
Safety Officer to join its growing team.

Working closely with project delivery teams, you will play a key role in maintaining a positive safety culture, ensuring compliance and supporting the successful delivery of major construction projects across the ACT.
The Role Reporting to the Project and Safety Management teams,
your responsibilities will include: - Conducting site inspections, audits and safety walks
- Promoting and maintaining a proactive safety culture
- Assisting with SWMS, risk assessments and safety documentation
- Investigating incidents, hazards and near misses
- Ensuring compliance with WHS legislation and company procedures
- Delivering toolbox talks and safety briefings
- Supporting project teams with safety planning and implementation
- Liaising with site personnel, subcontractors and stakeholders
Requirements: - Previous experience as a Safety Officer, WHS Coordinator or HSE Advisor within construction
- Strong understanding of Australian WHS legislation and safety management systems
- Experience working on commercial, infrastructure or major construction projects
- Excellent communication and stakeholder engagement skills
- Ability to build positive working relationships across all levels of a project team
- Strong attention to detail and reporting capability
- Relevant safety qualifications
