Evolution Precast is a leading precast concrete manufacturer delivering major infrastructure, commercial, industrial, and construction projects across NSW, QLD, and VIC. As our business continues to grow, we are seeking an experienced and proactive HSE Coordinator to support and drive health, safety, and environmental performance across our manufacturing operations.

This is a hands-on operational role that will work closely with management and site teams to promote a strong safety culture, ensure compliance, and continuously improve HSE performance across the business.

About the Role

Reporting to the Operations Manager, the HSE Coordinator will be responsible for overseeing workplace health, safety, and environmental compliance across our Buchanan manufacturing facility.

You will work closely with supervisors, operational teams, contractors, and management to ensure safe work practices are maintained, risks are effectively managed, and compliance obligations are achieved. The role will also support the ongoing development and implementation of HSE systems, procedures, audits, training, and continuous improvement initiatives and will also work closely with the Group HSE Manager and other facilities safety personnel

This position requires a practical and visible leader who enjoys engaging with operational teams and driving positive safety outcomes on the ground.

Key Responsibilities

  • Promote and support a positive safety culture across all operational areas

  • Conduct workplace inspections, audits, safety observations, and risk assessments

  • Coordinate incident investigations, hazard reporting, and corrective actions

  • Maintain HSE documentation, records, registers, and compliance systems

  • Support compliance with WHS legislation, environmental requirements, and company procedures

  • Coordinate employee, contractor, and visitor inductions

  • Deliver toolbox talks, safety communications, and awareness initiatives

  • Monitor environmental controls including waste management, dust, noise, and site housekeeping

  • Assist with internal and external audits and Integrated Management System (IMS) requirements

  • Work closely with supervisors and operational teams to identify and manage risks

  • Support continuous improvement initiatives focused on safety, compliance, and environmental performance

About You

You are passionate about workplace safety and enjoy working closely with operational teams to create safer and more efficient workplaces. You are proactive, practical, and capable of building strong working relationships across all levels of the business.

You have excellent communication skills, a strong understanding of HSE compliance requirements, and the ability to influence positive behavioural change in a manufacturing environment.

Skills & Experience

  • Experience in an HSE, WHS, Safety, or Environmental role within manufacturing, construction, industrial, or high-risk environments

  • Strong knowledge of Workplace Health and Safety legislation and compliance requirements

  • Experience conducting audits, inspections, incident investigations, and risk assessments

  • Strong communication and stakeholder engagement skills

  • Ability to influence and coach operational teams on safe work practices

  • Experience supporting ISO systems and Integrated Management Systems (IMS) highly regarded

  • Experience working within manufacturing, precast, construction, or industrial operations advantageous

Qualifications

  • Certificate IV in Work Health & Safety or higher qualification

  • Construction White Card

  • First Aid and CPR certification

  • Environmental management training or qualifications advantageous

  • ISO 45001 and/or ISO 14001 exposure or training highly regarded
