The Role
Vacancies exist for Community Transport Drivers to join our driver team in a rewarding role. We are offering fixed part-time and fulltime positions for 12 months with potential for a permanency thereafter.
You will be responsible for the safe transport of people of all ages to various locations around Cessnock LGA, Maitland, Newcastle, while delivering professional customer service, assisting with mobility equipment, shopping bags, and providing friendly conversation.
To be considered for this position you must be flexible to work week days and/or weekends between 5.00am – 11.00pm (penalty rates apply) starting out of Cessnock. Shifts operate Monday to Sunday with a variety of fixed rosters available including morning, afternoon, evening, and weekend shifts.
Typical shift durations range from 4 to 8 hours depending on roster allocation, with split shifts applying where required.
You must demonstrate a genuine interest to work within the community, have a high level of personal integrity, be committed to a caring & supportive team environment, responsible driving ethics, be physically fit to fulfil the manual tasks required such as frequent loading and unloading of mobility equipment, operating a wheelchair lifter & applying wheelchair restraints, entry & exit of vehicles and presentation of service vehicles.
Essential Requirements
LR Class Drivers Licence (or willingness to obtain)
NSW Bus Driver Authority (or willingness to obtain)
Passenger Transport Licence Code ‘T’ (Service NSW)
Ability to use a range of mobile devices and PC
Experience driving buses, vans and cars (manual & auto up to 22-seats)
Current Police Check
Working With Children Check
Current First Aid Certificate
Influenza Vaccination 2026
Provision of a Service NSW driving record
