Call or Contact Centre Operator (9 Positions Available)

About the Role
We are seeking 12 motivated Call or Contact Centre Operators to join a busy and supportive team. This is a contract opportunity based at the Maitland Contact Centre, ideal for candidates with strong customer service experience and the ability to thrive in a fast-paced office environment.
Working Hours & Roster - 7 hours per day / 35 hours per week
- Rotating roster between 7:00am – 7:00pm, Monday to Friday (no public holidays)
- 2-week rotating roster structure
- You will rotate between early, mid, and late shifts (e.g. 7am, 9–10am, 11am starts)
- Shifts change regularly to ensure variety (no consecutive identical rosters)
Key Responsibilities - Handle inbound customer enquiries in a professional and timely manner
- Provide accurate information and support related to road safety services
- Manage administrative tasks and data entry
- Maintain strong communication with team leaders and colleagues
- Deliver high-quality customer service across all interactions
About You - 2–3 years’ experience in customer service (call centre, admin, or retail)
- Previous office environment experience preferred
- Excellent written and verbal communication skills
- Strong attention to detail and problem-solving ability
- Intermediate computer skills, including:
- Typing and navigation
- Microsoft Office (Outlook, Teams)
- Professional email communication
- Ability to quickly learn new systems and processes
- Previous government experience is advantageous but not essential
Training & Support
Comprehensive, paid training will be provided on-site, including:
- 5-day General & Fundamentals training
- Phase 1: 8-day product training
- Phase 2: 8–9 day advanced product training
Training is delivered across several weeks. Between sessions, you will begin handling calls with ongoing support from Team Leaders and Subject Matter Experts. Full attendance is required to complete the training program.
Interview Process
Shortlisted candidates will be invited to attend a face-to-face interview at the Maitland Contact Centre (approximately 60–90 minutes).
