About the role

Able Disability Support Services is seeking enthusiastic and compassionate Support Workers to join our team. As a casual Support Worker, you will play a vital role in empowering our clients with disabilities to live independently and actively engage with their local community.

This is a casual position with great hours on offer. Hours vary 15-25 per week

What you'll be doing

  1. Providing personalised care and support to clients in their homes and the community

  2. Assisting with daily living activities such as personal care, meal preparation, medication management, and household tasks

  3. Facilitating social and recreational activities to improve clients' wellbeing and quality of life

  4. Advocating for clients' needs and rights, and supporting them to achieve their goals

  5. Maintaining accurate records and documentation as required

  6. Adhering to all relevant policies, procedures, and safety guidelines

  7. A current Working with Vulnerable People check is mandatory for this position

What we're looking for

  1. Experience in the aged care or disability support sector, or a relevant qualification (e.g. Certificate III in Individual Support)

  2. A genuine passion for making a positive difference in the lives of people with disabilities

  3. Strong communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to build rapport and trust with clients

  4. Patience, empathy, and a commitment to person-centred care

  5. A current driver's licence and access to a reliable vehicle essential

  6. Full Comprehensive Car Insurance essential

  7. A willingness to work flexible hours, including weekends and public holidays

  8. Willing to travel in these areas to fill in shifts to Shortland, Warner's Bay, Swansea

  9. Australian citizenship is required for this position

  10. Flexibility in filling shifts where needed, as well as weekend work.

  11. Current NDIS & WWCC check essential
