Rapid Clean Newcastle has a 6 month contracted position for accounting, debtors, creditors while the incumbent is on maternity leave starting beginning July 2026. The company has been a leading retail dealer in cleaning equipment and consumables to all sectors of the community for 25 years.

Accounting acumen, accurate processing, reliable systems, and commercial responsibility, are all key attributes of the role. Being able to work effectively with people in the business is important. Calm and effective relationships are needed for debtors collection, and supplier processing and queries, as is perfect English and communication skills. System skills are essential in accounting systems, data management and excel. Experience in producing monthly financial statements, is essential to cover all month end processing. The company is a family owned business, with strong values and a focus on good internal team relationships, professional and communal with its customers. 

The role reports to the owners of the business who are active in the operation. It is a full time role based in the Mayfield business but could be mornings only.

Job tasks and responsibilities

Prime responsibility is preparation of monthly accounts, processing of accounting, debtors, creditors, banking.  Assistance is available from external accounting and tax specialists.

The accounting system is Attache, and experience in this will be a strong advantage. Report preparation and interpretation assists managers making operational and sales decisions.

Commercial awareness is an opportunity to be active in inventory optimisation, discussions with transport companies, telecoms, insurance. Daily influence on logistics in and out of the business can occur for the right candidate.

Analysis and reporting of sales activities and opportunities, supports colleagues.

Skills and experience

Candidates must have proven Australian experience in accounting and support activities. 

Accounting qualifications are mandatory.

Skills in commercial management of inventory, credit policy, logistics and systems will all be very advantageous.

Communication skills to effectively engage with all internal and external stakeholders, is very important. It is not just a number processing role.

Strong Excel skills will allow useful information management across all aspects of this sales and supply business.
