Accounts Payable Specialist
AccountCom is a progressive, long-established bookkeeping and HR advisory business who provide exceptional client service and deliver a vibrant team culture.
We are seeking an Accounts Payable Specialist to join our experienced and collaborative team on a permanent part-time basis, working three days a week Tuesday to Thursday, with the possibility of flexible hours to balance work and home life.
About the Role
This is a hands-on role with broad ownership of the accounts payable function across a portfolio of clients. You'll be responsible for delivering high-quality accounts payable services while helping drive automation, workflow improvements, and best-practice processes.
Working closely our team, you'll become a key contributor to the ongoing development of our systems, technology, and client experience. This role combines operational responsibilities with process improvement and technology adoption, making it ideal for someone who enjoys both getting the work done and finding better ways to do it.
About You
You are an experienced Accounts Payable professional who enjoys taking ownership and improving systems and processes. You are naturally organised, solutions-focused, and confident working with cloud-based technology.
You enjoy accuracy, love creating efficiencies, and take pride in delivering exceptional service.
Key Responsibilities
Manage end-to-end accounts payable for a portfolio of clients
Assist our team with onboarding and software implementation
Manage Dext, ApprovalMax, and document workflows
Establish and improve processes, controls, and procedures
Support workflow design and automation initiatives
Identify risks, exceptions, and process improvement opportunities
Liaise with suppliers and internal stakeholders
Monitor workflow pipelines and ensure deadlines are met
Support continuous improvement projects across the business
What You'll Bring
Minimum 5 years' experience in Accounts Payable, bookkeeping, or a similar finance role
Strong experience using Xero
Extensive experience with Dext, Hubdoc, or similar platforms
Extensive experience with add-on solutions
Excellent attention to detail and accuracy
Strong organisational and problem-solving skills
A proactive, solutions-focused mindset
Confidence in learning and adopting new technologies
Ability to manage competing priorities across multiple clients
Strong communication and relationship-building skills
Ability to work independently while contributing to a collaborative team environment
Positive attitude with a desire to learn and grow
Highly Desirable
Experience with ApprovalMax
Experience with Karbon, Simpro, Workflowmax, Aroflow, Zellar or Hike
Experience in a bookkeeping, accounting, or professional services environment
Experience implementing process improvements or system changes
Understanding of GST and Australian bookkeeping requirements
