We are seeking an experienced finance leader to join a well-established industrial services business with a strong reputation across transport, mining, manufacturing and heavy industry.

This is a rare opportunity to join an established organisation with a strong pipeline of work, continued investment across its operations and an exciting growth trajectory. As CFO, you will play a key role in supporting the financial performance and future success of the business.

About the Role
Reporting directly to the General Manager, the CFO will be responsible for the financial management of the business, supporting commercial performance, operational decision-making and long-term sustainability.

We are looking for a finance professional who understands the realities of project and service-based environments and can confidently navigate everything from financial reporting and compliance through to cashflow management, contract review and business performance.

Working closely with Directors and operational stakeholders, you will provide financial insight and commercial guidance while ensuring strong financial discipline across the organisation.

Key Responsibilities
• Prepare monthly management reports, including P&L, Balance Sheet, WIP reporting and forecasts
• Manage end-of-month and end-of-year processes
• Prepare cashflow forecasts and monitor working capital
• Complete GST, PAYG, payroll tax, superannuation and statutory compliance requirements
• Review contracts, claims and retentions
• Monitor project profitability, margins and performance
• Provide financial input into pricing and commercial decisions
• Mentor the Accounts Officer across AP, AR and payroll activities
• Manage supplier payments, utilities and annual insurance matters
• Maintain accurate financial records, reporting processes and compliance obligations
• Prepare reporting and forecasts for the General Manager and Directors

About You
• Current CFO, or an experienced senior finance leader ready to take the next step in your career
• Comfortable operating in a hands-on environment and remaining involved in the day-to-day financial management of the business
• Experience within a project-based, service-driven or operational environment
• Strong understanding of WIP, labour recovery, project profitability and working capital management
• Experience with claims, retentions and contract review
• Well-developed accounting, reporting and compliance capability
• Strong commercial judgement and a practical approach to financial management
• Confidence engaging with business owners, operational stakeholders and senior leaders
• Background within transport, mining services, engineering, manufacturing, construction or a related industry will be highly regarded
• CA or CPA qualification preferred
